Jim Peyton: a rig pilot, who works for Neo Venus Construction Company (NEVEC) has been sent to E.D.N III (a hypothetical planet filled with large amounts of discovered and undiscovered minerals and energy resources) from Earth on a profitable contract. It’s still the ice-age on E.D.N III where it’s climate can change unexpectedly, and existing thermal Energy reserve of NEVEC is running low, Jim have a chance to fulfill NEVEC’s need on cost of facing dangerous Akrid. Will Jim be able to prevent the decline of NEVEC? Will he be able to defeat brutal indigenous “Akrid”? Will he be able to get back home again? Well, answers to these questions are set to reveal on August 27 at North America and on August 30 at Europe.

Directed by Matt Sophos and Kenji Oguro, “Lost Planet 3” is an upcoming third-person shooter, action-adventure video game. Plot is set from where Lost Planet series actually originated. Yes, another prequel as was “Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands which is expected to reveal new truths about the colonial history of E.D.N. III. It’s the time when NEVEC hasn’t become the main antagonists on E.D.N. III. Main antagonists of this game are “Arkid”, who are native E.D.N III; however there are more obstacles in Jim’s way, the treacherous environment of E.D.N III is the main challenge. New in “Lost Planet 3” are Rigs, which are powered by drill arms and claw arms for mining.

Lost planet 3 is internally developed by Capcom (developers of legendary Street Fighter X Tekken) and similar to Devil May Cry, this game will be developed externally by “Spark Unlimited”. Lost Planet 3 will include variety of gameplays including first person action and foot battles with a number of multiplayer modes too. Similar to most of the Capcom published games, Lost Planet 3 runs on Unreal Engine 3.

Lost Planet 3 will be launched for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with distribution in the form of optical disc and as a downloadable content.
