Sony Xperia M2 dual is yet another consistent device from Sony. Powered by Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor, the M2 dual comes with v4.3 (Jelly Bean) Android OS which is easily upgradable to v4.4.2 kitkat. As it belongs to Xperia, the M2 dual features a very attractive look with an extremely slim body. With dimensions of 139.7 x 71.1 x 8.6mm, the Sony Xperia M2 dual weighs 148g.
Starting with the display, the 4.8 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen of M2 have a 540 x 960 pixel resolution support with 4 fingers Multi-touch support. M2 dual has a scratch-resistant glass which is highly durable. When it comes to user-interface, the UI of M2 is sluggish; in comparison, the UI of Moto G is better. Support of 16m colors, makes a HD video worth watching in this device.
Coming to the sound quality, M2 is another quality sound device from Sony. The speakers sound great, where each instrument’s sound can be heard comfortably. Feature of “Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic” is just amazing.
Well, the camera quality for this device is a major concern. Sony Xperia M2 dual packs in 8 MP LED-flash which clicks the images with resolution 3264 x 2448 pixels. Everything seems ok in the daylight, but in dim light, the image quality is very disappointing. Primary camera of M2 is capable of recording videos at full HD (1080p) resolution, whose quality is still average. The secondary camera isn’t above average as well, which is capable of capturing 480p media.
In the wireless section, the Sony Xperia M2 dual has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA and Wi-Fi hotspot which is capable of connecting 9 devices including itself. Like every other smartphones in this range, the Xperia M2 dual also have OTG (On-the-go) support which makes it capable of accessing USB-flash drives with microUSB.
The battery performance of Xperia M2 is quite good; the non-removable Li-Ion 2300 mAh battery lasts for one day and more under consistent usage. Sony Xperia M2 is a good gamer as well, it performs well even when used for intensive game due to presence of dedicated GPU named “Adreno 305”.
Overall, the Sony Xperia M2 is a performable device with a fabulous touch/fees and great design, but the thing is that cheaper smartphones have better displays; for that reason it surely lags somewhere behind when it comes to “VALUE For MONEY”.
