All About Panasonic P81

5.5 inch screen panasonic, gesture support phone, Play Now

Price: Rs. 17,850/-

Well, this is another slab like smartphone out in market; it is sleek, shiny and well built. The P81 is the Panasonic’s first octa-core smartphone in India. Priced almost same as Sony Xperia M 2 dual, the Panasonic P81 beats most of the smartphones of this range in performance.

Panasonic P81 is just 7.9mm thick; it is has a great built and we find it very much handy. The back of P81 is kind a similar to Samsung Galaxy S5. The 5.5-inch IPS LCD display of P81 supports a video resolution of 720×1280 pixels. You might find the UI of this device a little confusing. The new “Gesture Play” feature is just ok, in the long run you’ll prefer the traditional screen-lock feature. Panasonic P81 runs on Android 4.4 jelly bean, with little alterations done with software where you’ll find “Play More” option instead of “Play Store”.

The photography section of this device is very impressive right from the sharp images to those high quality videos. The 13 Mega Pixel camera of P81 is a great performer even at dim light. The only thing pulling behind is the lack of full HD resolution support in this device when compared to other smartphones of the same price tag like Micromax Canvas knight.

Panasonic P81 can be well criticized on account of it high price. It should be priced somewhere about Rs. 16000, as many phones in this range such as Canvas Knight and Titanium Octane Plus that provides better specifications where the 1Gb of RAM with internal 8Gb  memory proves less at times. Plus, that 5.5 inch LCD screen catches finger prints very fast. Another thing is that, Panasonic P81 does not have a 4G network support as well.

Performance is the only parameter which will make you opt for this phone. Powered by Octa-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A8 processor, the P81 is a great multi-tasker. You can access multiple apps without being restricted by any hanging problem. The Mali-450MP4 GPU provides a great support to modern mobile games on this device. Another advantage of P81 is that it doesn’t heat up quickly. We played Asphaltp-8 say for continuous 1 hour and we haven’t come through any heating problem. The 2,300 mAh battery of Panasonic P81 is a great performer as well. So, if performance is your priority, you can surely go for this smartphone.
