All About Acer Iconia Tab B1
After the launch of tablets in the tech market, manufactures are trying to get upper hand on each other by launching new devices day by day, but they have to be sure that their device isn’t identical to the one which is already in the market and also they have to keep the price down thinking about the customer budget offering them common features with some additional features also. So keeping that in mind Acer introduces one of its low budget tablet Iconia Tab B1, let’s find out whether you have to pick it or kick it?
Firstly Form factor , B1 have a regular rectangular look for which no one can do more about that ,for making the device more attractive a blue border has been added to the tablet while it doesn’t make very stylish but it look decent rather than a stale look without that border. It is 11.30mm in thickness which make him a slim tab weighing 320g, overall a normal looking device.
A micro USB port is given at the end of the device with a power button on the top on the right side followed by volume dedicated keys. For earphone a 3.5mm jack have been given on the left to the power button, also a micro SD card slot available at the bottom next to the USB port. B1 is having a VGA front facing camera which is placed on the right side of the front panel above the 7.0-inch display having resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels. The panel which is used for the display doesn’t stand up to the others in its class, since the colors having high reflective glaze and the viewing angles aren’t too good.
Moving on to its hardware Iconia B1 runs on 1.2 Ghz dual core processor supported with 512 MB RAM having 8 GB internal storage & Android Jelly bean (4.1) is the operating system on the device runs. The RAM is not quite enough while you playing games with high graphics or playing HD videos.
When it comes to media B1 doesn’t come with its own headset you have to buy one but testing on own headset if you buy good quality headset the sound is good not too loud not too low, you will have a decent audio experience but while playing HD videos on even MX player the video framing isn’t good and also color seemed little bleak because of the display.
For the connectivity concern Iconia B1 offers just WI-FI for the internet while it also have Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and USB for both charging and sharing of stuff with your PC.
One additional feature of this tablet is that Acer added a cloud app for online backup; you have to just create an ID and backup all your data on the Tab.
The camera quality of the device is average since it offers VGA camera. It runs on 2170 mAh battery which offers 2hrs of video 2hrs of audio music and 2 hrs. of video streaming .
Overall the price of the tab is around Rs 8000 which makes it a little too pricey for what it is offering. Other than having good audio player for which you have buy headsets which will cost you around Rs 500 it is having minimum features at this price range. There are other devices which are providing more features and they are also cheaper but they aren’t made by an international brand like ACER but B1 will be not a good choice in this price range.
